Can we get delicious Chinese food by cooking at home?
Oh Yes! I love to cook Chinese food at home. Especially Chinese turkey dish. Why? Well, first of all, Chinese food is quite easy to cook. Then it’s full of flavor and it’s also very healthy.
Of all the Chinese dishes I’ve cooked at home, this Chinese turkey dish with vegetables is by far my favorite because it’s the perfect combination of turkey meat, healthy vegetables, and Chinese ingredients that add extra flavor to any dish. Unfortunately, I don’t have many Chinese ingredients or spices at home, but soy sauce, sesame oil or sweet and sour sauce are indispensable in my pantry.
Thus, by combining these simple and tasty ingredients, we can get a dish with Chinese influences by cooking in our own kitchen, having the possibility to adjust the amount of spice so that we get exactly the taste that we like, but also reminding us of Chinese cuisine.
Can Chinese food be prepared for children?
Of course. As long as the amounts of spices used are adapted to children’s tastes, Chinese food can be eaten by all family members without problems. Obviously, you won’t be able to give a child a spicy dish, that’s why if we just add soy sauce, a little sesame oil and a sweet and sour sauce, the result obtained can be one very pleasant for any child.
In addition, a final dish full of taste and color on the plate, can be attractive even for the most picky children, or even adults π
My daughter absolutely loves using chopsticks to eat Chinese food (especially Chinese turkey dish). She is not very good at using them, but she concentrates very hard to manage to eat even just a few mouthfuls using the famous chopsticks.
Chinese turkey dish with vegetables – full of nutrients
If we think about the ingredients used to prepare this type of food (Chinese turkey dish), we can easily see that the basic ingredients are: turkey meat, vegetables – the more varied, the better, and spices, which everyone can use according to their preferences.
Turkey meat is one of the healthiest types of meat. This is mainly due to the high protein content. A single serving of turkey meat provides 65% of the daily protein requirement. In addition, turkey meat is an important source of niacin, vitamin B6 and selenium.
The vegetables used to prepare this dish can be varied, depending on everyone’s preferences, but I recommend using carrots, zucchini and eggplants, because they are both tasty and very healthy. And the texture that zucchini and eggplant will gain during the cooking process is very smooth and pleasant even for children. It is already known that vegetables represent an extremely important source of vitamins and minerals, so whatever vegetables you choose, you will certainly have the necessary vitamins and minerals.
An ingredient specific to Chinese cuisine is ginger. I also like to add a little grated ginger to this chinese turkey dish and vegetable dish because it gives it a unique flavor and is extremely healthy. Ginger is known for its therapeutic properties, the consumption of ginger positively influencing both digestion and the treatment of respiratory disorders. Ginger also helps improve blood circulation, fight inflammation and infection, or even care for the skin or hair.
As for the spices used, as I have already said, I limit myself to using soy sauce, sesame oil and adding an extra taste with sweet and sour sauce. If I ever run out of this sauce in the pantry, I replace it with a tablespoon of honey for the same slightly sweet taste at the end of the cooking process.
Thus, using such simple ingredients, we can obtain a dish full of taste, flavor and with a wonderful texture. In our family, this dish is generally eaten with rice noodles or plain white rice boiled in salted water.
I chose to prepare this dish using the Crockpot Express multicooker, but you can get the same wonderful and delicious dish by cooking it in the traditional way, on the stove, using a large pot or a WOK pan.
I hope I have convinced you to try this Chinese turkey dish. Please do not forget to share your opinion about this wonderful Chinese turkey dish in the comments section. Let’s share and learn together.

You can serve this dish with rice or noodles! You will get the same delicious result with both. For me the rice is the best side for this Chinese turkey dish but for my kid the noodles are way more interesting and funnier.
