This quince pie recipe is a simple one, similar to Raspberry Meringue Pie, with quince as the main ingredient.
For those who are not familiar with this fruit, according to Wikipedia.com, the quince resembles a pear in appearance, but its unique taste and texture make it a special fruit. Quince can be enjoyed fresh, or it can be cooked to obtain various desserts or even quince jam, marmalade or even alcoholic drinks.
Choosing the right ingredients for quince pie recipe
I chose to prepare quince pie recipe using a pie crust, a generous layer of quince cooked with a little sugar in the pan, to soften and a top layer of meringue , which brings that extra sweetness needed if you choose to use quince filling for the pie. Even if I use sugar in this recipe, to achieve a wonderful combination between the sweet and sour taste of the quince, my recommendation is to limit yourself to as little sugar as possible.
